Retrieve or Update AuthInfo Codes

An AuthInfo code (also called a transfer key) authorizes a domain transfer to a new registrar. This article explains what the code is for and how to retrieve or update it in the Ascio Partner Portal.

About AuthInfo codes

Most TLDs require an AuthInfo code before a domain can transfer away from its current registrar. The code confirms that the person requesting the transfer is authorized to manage the domain, which helps prevent unauthorized transfers and breaches of contract. You can retrieve most TLDs' AuthInfo codes directly from the Partner Portal using your reseller login.

Before you begin

• Access to the Ascio Partner Portal. You'll need your reseller login credentials.
• The domain name you want to retrieve or update the AuthInfo code for.

Step 1: Start an AuthInfo request

1. Sign in to the Ascio Partner Portal.
2. Select Domains > Search from the left-side panel.
3. Enter the domain name and select Search domains.
4. Select the checkbox beside the domain name to open the Manage menu.
5. Select Auth info from the Manage menu.
6. Select Validate.
7. Select Submit to create the order.

Step 2: Retrieve the updated code

1. Once the order is complete, search for the domain again under Domains > Search.
2. Select the domain name to open its Domain Data panel.
3. Find the AuthInfo code under Domain Details.
