Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your Ascio Partner Portal account. This article explains what to expect before 2FA is enabled, how to complete setup, and what to do if you lose your authentication device.
About 2FA at Ascio
2FA is a free-of-charge service that's mandatory for all Ascio partners. Once enabled on your account, it affects every user on that account. For more on managing your account, see Partner Portal Overview.
Before you begin
- A separate device, such as a smartphone or tablet, to generate your 2FA codes.
- A two-factor authentication app, such as Google Authenticator (iOS) or Authy (Android), installed on that device.
Step 1: Wait for the advance notice
Ascio sends an email one week before activating 2FA on your account, giving you time to prepare and inform all users on the account.
Step 2: Complete the setup
- Sign in to the Ascio Partner Portal.
- Select Next to view the QR code for your authentication app.
- Scan the QR code with your authentication app, then enter the code it generates into the 2FA code field.
- Select Finish.
- Select Continue to the Ascio Partner Portal to return to the login page.
Note: From now on, you'll need to enter the 2FA code shown in your authentication app each time you sign in.
If you lose your device
Select Lost your phone? on the sign-in page, then follow the instructions to enroll a new device. This restarts the setup process from Step 2.
